Guerilla Gardening in Hanover

The kitchen garden was the 16th in Hannover Linden Centuries of the supply of the ducal household. In the course of industrialization, the gardens were laid and used the former pastures and orchards in the meantime as a pigsty and bearings for railway workers. (http://www.linden-entdecken.de/impressionen/kuechengarten.htm)

These times are long gone. If we get off today at the station kitchen garden, we look to a vollurbanisierte landscape that we perceive through the variety of consumption opportunities as "alive".

But amidst this urban Landscape has initiated a project to life. One weekend in September, a small group of committed people met and established a hill on the last remaining livestock and crop garden.

out of the station, the pansies are visible, but only if you pass the pretty spiral path up the mountain, the full extent of the garden is visible. Raspberry and blackcurrant, tarragon and sage, and a whole range of hardy ferns and shrubs were planted there on their own power.

Almost all plants come from the local Saturday markets and the gardeners were given. The "potato Earth" has a little story in which industrial production Connect and green lifestyle: She comes from a potato processing plant in the peripheral area in the south of Hanover and is used as fertilizer, which also already contains the seeds for potato harvest.

But not only individual creativity of the gardeners live if they want to beautify their neighborhood. At the same time they want to incite the people to join in their neighborhood. For the often immobile by persisting in front of the desk body back from activities in the garden easily. And with the plant grows the social interaction.
